The Legendary Cal 2-46 is still one of the best built, comfortable, cruising sailing yachts in the world and that is why they continue to maintain their value so well.  Many modern yachts are returning to a similar design.  The sturdy construction and Bill Lapworth’s design has proven to be a safe and comfortable passage maker with great sea keeping characteristics.

The CAL 2-46 was conceived, designed and built from the keel up for the specific purpose of comfortable worldwide cruising.
The long keel is designed for directional stability and easy motion.  The shoal draft gives you entry into some of the finest cruising grounds, bays and harbors.  The big spade rudder offers great maneuverability and easier steering control.  The long waterline length means increased speed and expanded interior space.
